Documentary Collection

Documentary collection is a payment method in international trade where the exporter's bank sends commercial and financial documents to the importer's bank with instructions to release documents against payment (D/P) or acceptance (D/A). Collection is cheaper and simpler than L/C but provides less security to the exporter. Governed by URC 522 ICC.
