Definition
GIR Rule 5 concerns classification of packing and containers. Rule 5(a) states that cases, boxes and similar containers specially shaped to hold a specific article (e.g. violin cases) are classified with the article. Rule 5(b) states that packing materials and containers suitable for repetitive use are classified with the goods, unless presented separately.
