OLAF (Office européen de lutte antifraude) is an independent European Commission office investigating customs fraud, duty evasion, corruption, and financial irregularities harming the EU budget. OLAF conducts internal (within EU institutions) and external (with member state customs) investigations. Undervaluation, false origin certificates, and smuggling are the most common OLAF customs cases.
