Definition
REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) is EU Regulation 1907/2006 governing the production, import, and use of chemical substances in the EU. Importers of chemical substances above 1 tonne per year must register them with ECHA. REACH directly affects customs clearance – authorities check if imported substances are registered.
