Definition
CIM (Convention Internationale concernant le transport des Marchandises par chemin de fer) is an international rail consignment note governed by the COTIF/CIM Convention. It is issued for each rail consignment and contains sender, consignee, loading/unloading station data, goods description, and transport conditions. CIM is gaining importance in EU-China trade (New Silk Road).
