Definition
Customs proceedings are an administrative procedure conducted by customs authorities in cases of dispute over tariff classification, customs value, origin, or duty amount. Proceedings may be initiated ex officio (e.g. after post-clearance audit) or on application. Customs decisions are subject to appeal.
