DAP (Delivered at Place)

Transport & logistics

PL: DAP (Delivered at Place) | DE: DAP (Delivered at Place)

Definition

DAP (Delivered at Place) is an Incoterms 2020 rule where the seller bears the costs and risk of transport to the agreed place of destination in the import country, where goods are made available to the buyer on the means of transport, ready for unloading.

The seller is responsible for: export customs clearance, international transport, insurance (if agreed — but not required under DAP), and delivery to the agreed place. The buyer is responsible for: unloading, import customs clearance, and onward transport.

DAP is a popular rule in international trade, often used for door-to-door deliveries. In the customs context, the DAP value includes transport costs to the destination — customs value is determined on a CIF basis, so it may be necessary to deduct inland transport costs.
