PL: DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) | DE: DDP (Delivered Duty Paid)
Definition
DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) is an Incoterms 2020 rule imposing maximum obligations on the seller. The seller bears all costs and risk until delivery of goods to the agreed place of destination in the import country, including: export customs clearance, international transport, insurance, import customs clearance, and payment of all duties, import VAT, excise, and other import charges.
The buyer under DDP is only responsible for unloading at the destination. DDP is the opposite of EXW. DDP is often used by large export companies offering 'all inclusive' delivery and in e-commerce (B2C).
In the customs context, DDP requires the seller to have a tax (VAT) registration in the import country, which can be complicated. Customs value is determined from the transaction price, deducting duties and VAT (already included in the DDP price).
