The TIR Convention (Transports Internationaux Routiers) is an international transit system administered by the IRU (International Road Transport Union) under UN auspices. The TIR Carnet is an international guarantee and customs document enabling goods transport across multiple countries under customs seal without intermediate border controls. The TIR system operates in over 77 countries.
