Type Approval

Type approval is a procedure confirming that a vehicle type, part, or equipment meets technical and safety requirements. The EU uses the Whole Vehicle Type Approval (WVTA) system. Importing vehicles from third countries requires EU type approval or a Certificate of Conformity (CoC). Without type approval, vehicle registration is not possible.
