Definition
A veterinary certificate is an official document issued by the veterinary authority of the exporting country confirming that animals or animal products meet the sanitary-veterinary requirements of the importing country. In the EU, imports of animal-origin food are regulated by official controls legislation. Imports must pass through approved Border Control Posts (BCP) and are subject to TRACES system control.
