DG TAXUD (Directorate-General for Taxation and Customs Union) is the European Commission department responsible for EU customs and tax policy. DG TAXUD develops customs legislation (UCC, TARIC), manages IT systems (NCTS, ICS2, AES), coordinates customs cooperation between member states, and negotiates customs agreements with third countries.
