Proof of Origin

A proof of origin is a document certifying that goods were produced or sufficiently processed in a specific country or group of countries. Types include preferential origin proofs (EUR.1, EUR-MED, invoice declaration, origin declaration, Form A, REX) and non-preferential origin proofs (certificate of origin issued by a chamber of commerce).

Preferential proofs entitle the importer to reduced or zero duty rates under FTAs or unilateral preferences (GSP). Non-preferential proofs serve trade policy measures (quotas, anti-dumping duties, embargoes) and country of origin marking.
