Definition
A transit document (Transit Accompanying Document – TAD) is generated by the NCTS system upon acceptance of a transit declaration. It accompanies goods during transport from the office of departure to the office of destination, containing the MRN, consignor and consignee data, goods description, route, delivery deadline, and guarantee information.
In NCTS Phase 5 (being deployed since 2024), the transit document is available electronically, though the TAD printout still accompanies the consignment. Other transit documents include the TIR carnet, ATA carnet, and T2L/T2LF document.
